Past Awards

The Leamington Society first introduced its Awards in 1976, the Society’s 20th anniversary year, to recognise improvements to buildings and the street scene of Royal Leamington Spa. The Awards are generally held biennially, although the normal cycle was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Bill Gibbons Trophy

First presented in 1980, the Bill Gibbons Trophy recognises an outstanding private improvement visible from the street. The trophy takes the form of a cup, which is held by the recipient until the following Awards ceremony.

Records relating to the Leamington Society Architectural Awards are held by Warwickshire County Record Office (WCRO) under reference PH1308. The Society is grateful to the WCRO for cataloguing these papers.
